The Journal of Dairy Research was established in 1928 by the then National Institute for Research in Dairying (Reading) and Hannah Dairy Research Institute (Ayr). JDR is an international journal that publishes high-quality, novel scientific research ​on all aspects of the biology, wellbeing and technology of lactating animals and the foods they produce. JDR is also a vibrant, global community of researchers engaged in all aspects of research across the dairy foods chain.
